I'm currently a volunteer firefighter and also a EMT-Basic for the city of Friendswood.
Friendswood consists of 28,000 people served by Our fleet of 3 Type I ambulances, 3 crown victorias, and 1 Ford Explorerresponse vehicle, and our chief's Ford Expedition command vehicle. We also have three stations which are all equipped with first out jaws/rescue pumpers. All of our chief officers have been given response vehicles as well as our Chief's new Ford 4x4 Expedition as well as our new Duty Officer Ford Expedition (2wd).In the future I plan on advancing up to Paramedic. I also am currently a member with South Texas Advanced Tactical Team SAR. We currently are made up of certified medics, divers, as well as firefighters. The team serves the Southeast regions of Texas as well as mutual aid for East Texas SAR. We make about four call outs a month. We also currently have just received an automatic mutual aid with the city of Pasadena. We are currently looking at purchasing some type of heavy rescue apparatus, as well as a bayed station. We are always accepting members, so please check out the website for your online application and some further details about the team. Please feel free to stop back by anytime because I am trying to constantly update my page.
When I am called to duty, God
Wherever flames may rage
Give me the strength to save some life
Whatever be its age
Help me embrace a little child
Before it is too late
Or save an older person from
The horror of that fate
Enable me to be alert and
Hear the weakest shout
And quickly and efficiently
To put the fire out
I want to fill my calling and
To give the best in me
To guard my every neighbor
And protect their property
And if according to your will
I have to lose my life
Please bless with your protecting hand
My children and my wife
This poem has been dedicated to all the brave firefighters who have fallen in the line of
duty.
